Ya’at’ééh Shí Diné,
First, I wish to congratulate Justin Jones and Crystalyne Curley for a successful Navajo Nation presidential campaign and for qualifying for the general election in November.
Second, I want to thank every single person who stood with us. I also send out a heartfelt thank-you and acknowledgment to the many campaign staff, coordinators, workers behind the scenes, forum organizers, media, chapter officials, and election personnel involved in the recently concluded Navajo Nation Primary Election.
Ahéhee’ for believing in a vision of adding more jobs, advancing real energy development, strengthening economic sovereignty, and building a government that puts our people first with integrity.
I ran because I believe our Nation stands at a crossroads. We need visionary leadership that creates opportunity for our families, honors our sovereignty, and builds a future where our children and grandchildren can thrive here on our own land.
That vision does not end today. These are the principles I have been working on over the past three years since leaving office as Vice President.
Mine was a campaign about not living in the past and not depending solely on federal government funding. It was about unleashing the Navajo Nation into all that we can become through business development, job creation, and inviting our younger workers and aspiring talent home to meaningful jobs and a life with their families and elders.
That vision reflects the work I am already doing as a private businessman and as a family-rooted leader in our communities.
It is my hope that our future leaders will truly lead our Nation with integrity while supporting our hope-filled younger generations of opportunity seekers. These principles can provide far-reaching and long-lasting benefits for the Navajo people when promises are honored and delivered.
Ahéhee’.
